For the first time, North European Societal Security Training is inviting emergency preparedness managers from municipalities all over Sweden to a common training exercise.
The theme of the three-part session is energy crisis and it will cover advanced education, realistic training scenarios and an evaluation conference. This will be the group initiative’s first common training presentation.
“The main purpose is to test and evaluate the players’ own competences,” says Magnus Qvant, marketing manager at The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) in Revinge and one of the principal players.
There is a great need for education and training in crisis management, Qvant says. Exercises are performed in most municipalities, but the combination of qualified education with a clear connection to a realistic scenario is often lacking.
“We want to highlight the importance of bringing together different competences within education, training and research,” Qvant says. “In this way, we get the best possible effect and at the same time create both a holistic concept and a new type of education within the area of risk and security. This is where our common group initiative differs from other educational programs – there are so many of us contributing with a high level of competence from our respective areas.”
The session will take place in Skåne on four separate days between 15 April and 29 April. Invitations will be sent to municipal emergency preparedness managers throughout Sweden soon.
